Ofsted and performance data
Ofsted
Following its most recent Ofsted inspection in March 2023, William Law CofE Primary School continues to be judged as a good school. The inspection recognised the strong progress made in recent years, particularly under new leadership, and highlighted the school’s caring, inclusive community rooted in its Christian values.
Strengths identified include a strong culture of reading, an ambitious and well-designed curriculum, effective support for pupils’ wellbeing (including those with SEND), and high standards of behaviour and safeguarding. Pupils feel safe, happy and take pride in their learning, while staff are well supported in their roles and development.
Inspectors also recognised the wide range of opportunities available to pupils, enriching their learning beyond the classroom.
There are two areas for further development: strengthening the precision of support for some pupils with SEND, and ensuring that previously taught knowledge is revisited consistently. Work in both areas is already underway as part of the school’s ongoing improvement plans.
